The Canadian Petroleum Industry grew on the back of the exploration and innovation of the men and women in Canada’s geoscience community. When economics get too thin, when regulations change, when costs soar, or when the 'treadmill' looks like it is grinding to a halt, we have always called on the brash explorationists and optimists in our industry; the geologists, geophysicists and petrophysicists, to resurrect our business. When our explorationists are thrown into the crucible, which of these old adages do you believe drives the evolution of ideas?

We are blessed that all of our professions co-exist in a tight
geoscience circle centered here in Calgary. All the component pieces
of our industry; the E&P companies, the service companies, the educational institutions and the government
agencies work in close proximity, stimulating new innovation and concepts.
The 2008 CSPG CSEG CWLS Convention provides the perfect venue for this
